High-Speed Digital Design A Handbook for Black Magic. I prefer the subtitle of Johnson and Graham's text on high-speed digital design: “A Handbook of Black Magic”.  Based on personal experience. New Jersey: Prentice Hall Professional Technical Reference. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews. This is an excellent book, jammed with useful stuff, highly recommended. It is really easy to understand, you don't need EM to understand the book. As for a beginner to high speed digital design, there is a reference book to be recommended entitled "High-Speed Digital System Design - A Handbook of Interconnect Theory and Design Practices". It's called "High Speed Digital Design: A Handbook of Black Magic" by Howard Johnson. A good reference for this is "High Speed Digital Design: A Handbook of Black Magic" by Johnson and Graham, see here. "High Speed Digital Design, A Handbook of Black Magic" by Howard Johnson. Its subtitle, “A Handbook of Black Magic,” gives away its true nature. It is 10 years old, manybe there is newer and better book. If your magic dust is bits and cycles, this is your spellbook. Signal integrity, and his book "High-Speed Digital Design, a Handbook of Black Magic" is on many designers' bookshelves (mine too). Hence, this book is a kick-start before explose to Howard Johnson-Black Magic Book or Eric Bogatin-Signal Integrity Simplified. Beginner a strong fundamental in this high-speed digital design area.
